Warbirds Over Wanaka welcomes IAOPA participants to our unique International Airshow 2018 at Wanaka Airport where we will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary.
Airshow Program 2018
Friday 30th March – Practice Day
Gates open at 7.30am on all three days. Operational are all trade, wine and food stands, static aircraft displays. Be at our free Wanaka Lakeside event from 4.30pm to see helicopters, the Catalina and others as they entertain.
Saturday 31st March and Sunday 1st April - Airshow days (10am-4pm)
Trade Stands and WOWMart (used aircraft parts), wine and food stands are operational.
Non-stop flying displays until the airfield attack finale. Historical WWI and WWII aircraft (eg Spitfire, Kittyhawk, Corsair and Catalina), signature overseas aircraft, aerobatic displays, The Royal New Zealand Air Force, regional Air Forces, other civilian and transport aircraft and sport aircraft will enthrall.
Our pyrotechnics team recreate scenes while numerous static displays including aircraft for sale, Packard cars, stationary engines and military vehicles and personnel re-enact wartime skirmishes.
Stay on Monday 2nd April for Rides Day and ride in a warbird, helicopter, DC3 or other aircraft.
